I would like to know how the Guardians choose their apprentices. I'm planning to expand Oria's backstory, including how she became an apprentice.
Some of the Guardians have their apprentices because the parents of said apprentices bribed Princess Ember, with money and gold of course, to make their children apprentices. This doesn't go for all the apprentices though.
Well, let's analyze these we have and their common points:
1) rare element (Seva, Drace, Lawrence) (exceptional rule);
2) relation to Guardians (Dorkus, Electroy);
3) being 1st class, thus being able to bribe to have the kid in (it's up to parents to decide if the kid is worth it or not) (more preference goes to the kids with influental parents, for example, Korya's dad is a police chief, so he was taken without much fuss).
There's nothing about skill :c
This is quite sad...
Perhaps to first two reasons will not fit in Oria's case. I have an idea about Oria's father having a military history, high rank and skills, which gives the family a nice income and also the influence to make the daughter an apprentice.
I would like to hear your opinion as well.
I was kinda curious about this myself? Well now I know, could this be a bad thing in the long wrong?
if theyre just paid to get the position rather than picked because theyre qualified wont that make em weaker in the long run? At least morally?
They aren't taught the way the Guardians were back then. They are trained, right, but it's different, as current Guardians are "men of office". The kids are different, too, some actually want to be "just cool", some aim for luxury and fame the title gives, very few want to be like old Guardians.
What do you think?
